Annuals
FAST holds annual seminars in Tempe, AZ, related to our hobby. The first one was a Model A & B bearing seminar in December of 1996. Subsequent seminars have discussed air flow, porting and bigger valves, today's fuels and how our vintage carbs & fuel systems are affected, racing a 216-MPH Model B-powered car at Bonneville, etc. The first seminar is on video and available for $15.00 plus $3.00 each shipping & handling. It includes a display of Model T, A & B performance items such as special heads, manifolds, etc.
We have held seminars at all the national MAFCA meets since 1992 and all the MARC national meets since 1996. We have also held seminars at many of the regional meets. The annual gathering of F.A.S.T. members in Tempe, AZ, features a guest speaker on a technical subject and usually includes a short tour and a lot of tire-kicking.
Because we are so spread out we hold meetings/seminars only at the national meets of MARC & MAFCA; but we encourage members to form local groups for fun, support and exchange of information. There is one such group in Central California, called The F.A.S.T. Gold Country Group, that holds monthly meetings and stages hill-climbs twice a year. There is another in New Zealand, The Rebel A's, that has regular meetings, publishes an occasional newsletter, and has held speed contests, usually 1/8th-mile drags, in conjunction with other Model A events.
